TradFest is Ireland’s largest festival of traditional music. It started in 2006 as a small festival. It wanted to show the very best of both Irish and international trad and folk artists.
Taking place in Temple Bar the TradFest is only a 10-minute walk from Maldron Hotel Kevin Street. The event is one of the few Winter festivals and takes place at the end of January each year. A number of concerts and events take place across the festival, the main being the headline concerts which present the cream of both Irish and international trad and folk artists iconic Dublin venues.
The SMITHWICKS SESSIONS are free concerts in intimate settings that feature the very best in Irish music in a close and personal space. Tickets for these events are free but must be booked in advance. Another free event is the TRADHUB which is a late-night club presenting the best in up and coming Irish Trad.
