Pride is a protest, a celebration and a show of solidarity.
Pride festival takes place in Dublin each June. The most important part of this festival is the Pride Parade which first took place in 1983. In 2018 a record number of people turned out to take part in the parade with up to 60,000 people marching together. It has become one of the biggest and most popular events in Ireland. There is no need to register, you can just show up and join the parade as it starts at O’Connell street and goes through the city, ending at Merrion Square.
